Check Out: Itasca, "After Dawn"

Hear a peaceful acoustic ballad from the folk singer's new album

If you're looking for a way to help you find your happy place, look no further. Los Angeles-based Kayla Cohen's folk project, Itasca, reveals music that is calm, quiet and serene (not to mention beautiful) placing your mind in a forest surrounded by breathtaking landscapes and rich greenery. Case in point: "After Dawn," a simple acoustic ballad (with lovely hints of flute) that's as rich in earthy tones as Bon Iver's For Emma, Forever Ago. The song will appear on the singer/songwriter's forthcoming new album, Unmoored by the Wind, which is out via Real Estate/Ducktails musician Matt Monandile's label, New Images, on October 14th.
