Victor Holmberg, the London-via-Sweden producer who makes up half of the production and songwriting duo Montauk, is doing his own thing - it's called 1987, which we're assuming is an important year for him, and here's its lovely, soaring debut single, "Ocean." Listening, we're not sure why Holmberg was spending his time writing songs for other people - his delicate (Swedish!) vocals, heavy piano chords, and textured, fluting background synths were meant to be together. This just might be the effect of soaring male voice + foreign language + big drums, but listening to "Ocean" almost feels like the sublime experience of listening to Sigur Ros. Check it out.
