Last year saw a huge uprising in progressive electronica thanks to contributions from masterminds like Gold Panda, Four Tet and Canadian mathematician, Caribou. Fittingly, the latter two, real names Kieran Hebdan and Daniel Snaith, are set to release a joint single via Hebdan's own Text Records. Snaith will be operating under his moniker Daphni on his joint “Ye Ye,” which recently appeared on his Soundcloud page. It adheres to the pulsating, ominous electro vibes Snaith focused on with last year's Swim, but only this one is so frenzied and bass heavy, you could actually picture it on the dancefloor. As always, Snaith's diverse catalogue continues to widen. The track from Four Tet, “Pinnacles,” which was premiered on BBC Radio, is equally, if not more dance friendly, with a jazz ting to it that accentuates the grimy bass and riveting drumkits. Both tunes are stellar, but no confirmed date on when they come out physically.
