Hear Chance the Rapper on Kehlani's "The Way"

Chance the Rapper

Chance the Rapper is one of the most reliable guest-verse MCs working right now. Just take a look at his resume: his references? Pop titans Madonna(!) and Justin Bieber might vouch for him. Or perhaps fellow buzzy rappers Childish Gambino and Action Bronson? What about forward-looking producers James Blake, Nosaj Thing, and Octave Minds? Chance's best references might be the smaller artists he works with, and as a result lifts up with his celebrity.

That's what happening with Chance's latest guest appearance. He provides a tight verse on "The Way", a sultry, sleepy, track from from Oakland chanteuse Kehlani. Her debut album, You Should Be Here, is available now on digital formats. The disc is out April 28.

We're glad Chance is such a game guest-artist. (It's a great way to keep your name out there while not actually releasing anything. The checks can't be too bad, either.) But the anticipation of a follow-up to 2013's Acid Rap is a killer.
