The Bay Area's Holly Herndon returns with her inimitable brand of "post-human" electronic music. Her new album follows-up her 2012 breakthrough, Movement. Fittingly, it's called Platform.
Movement, for all its idiosyncrasies and brio, amounted to little more than a formidable display of potential. A coming out party. Platform is her first major move, and at first blush, it seems to improve on its predecessor on every count.
