After she sang a few lines of "Born This Way" in September 2010's MTV VMAs, the world of pop music has been eagerly waiting for the release of the first single from Lady Gaga's proper sophomore album. The song, in all of it's gay glory was released on iTunes earlier this morning. Peter Tabakis put it best in an IM this morning: "it sounds like "Express Yourself" and "Waterfalls" had a really gay baby," before adding, quite appropriately, "the lyrics border on cringe." That said though, "Born This Way" is a top notch dance song with very noble sentiment; and like Vogue said on their Gaga profile, it's "destined to be the anthem of every gay-pride event for the next 100 years." Like I always say, don't be a drag, just be a queen — listen to "Born This Way" below:
Lady Gaga's album, Born This Way won't be out until May 22.
