Today in Awesome News, Interview Magazinepublished a Mark Ronson interview conducted by the buddy Q-Tip. It's an interesting enough interview, but it kicks off with this:
Q-TIP: What are you doing in L.A.?
Mark RONSON: I'm going to do some recording with Lana Del Rey today and tomorrow. I found this cool old studio out here.
Q-TIP: Are you producing?
RONSON: I don't know. She has some songs and I said I had some demo ideas, and if they are any good, then maybe she'll like them and we'll go from there.
How can anyone pretend that they were paying attention to anything said after that? Weren't their heads suddenly filled with strange but wonderful mashups of Ultraviolence and Back to Black and, of course, "Uptown Funk"?
A few months back, Lana Del Rey announced that she had 10 songs ready for her new album, which is to be called Honeymoon. It's likely that these are the songs Ronson is talking about in the interview. It's also likely that they're now full of '60s girl group drums and bouncy horn sections.
