Listen: Damon Albarn & Tony Allen, "Go Back"

Hear the Blur/Gorillaz frontman sing on the iconic afrobeat drummer's new album

The always working, constantly entertaining Damon Albarn and Afrobeat drummer Tony Allen actually go way back, if you didn't know. The Blur/Gorillaz frontman and Allen appeared together on two of Albarn's supergroup projects: The Good, The Bad, & the Queen (which also featured Paul Simonon of the Clash and Simon Tong and was produced by Danger Mouse), and the debut from Rocket Juice & the Moon, which saw Allen and Albarn team up with Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea. Now, the good friends have reunited yet again, with an intriguing new song called "Go Back," which will appear on Allen's forthcoming new album, Film of Life. Drops sometime in October. "Go Back" is an introspective and subdued affair that finds Albarn's vocals and Allen's smooth drumming stylings fitting one another quite candidly. As I said, these two go back. Listen:
