I must admit, I haven't made it a habit to listen to much Mariah Carey since 1997's Butterfly. But, when Q-Tip released his own version of the pop star's latest single, "Meteorite," today, I didn't have much of a choice. Tip doesn't hone his rapping chops here, instead, reworking the single as a disco pop tune, as opposed to the bass-heavy, dance-infectious original, which he also produced. It's funny because this new version sounds more like a Mariah Carey song than the original. Seems Tip knows her better than she knows herself. Check it out below; Me. I Am Mariah... The Elusive Chanteuse, Carey's 14th studio album, drops on Tuesday.
