The last we heard from Kieran Hebden was under the moniker Percussionswith the futuristic but sensual "Sext." We're pleased to announce that Hebden has returned to the form as Four Tet, sharing today via Twitter a new song which he collaborated with Dutch producer Martyn called "Glassbeadgames (8 Hours at Fabric Dub)."
Though it's not actually 8 hours long - the song does clock in at a lengthy 8 minutes though - the dub contains all the elements of classic Four Tet: unique, introspective rhythms, erratic beat patterns, an overwhelming presence of drums and cluttered soul samples packaged neatly within. And of course, the dub.
The 'dub' version will appear on Martyn's forthcoming Forgiveness EP, out on June 3rd via Ninja Tune. The actual version will reportedly appear on Martyn's full length album, The Air Between Words, which drops June 17th. It will also include a collab with Inga Copeland of Hype Wiliams.
