Listen: Underworld, "Dark & Long" (Alternate Version)

Hear a previously unreleased version of the duo's album opener from dubnobasswithmyheadman

While electronic music has shaped and evolved over the past two decades, the foundations of it, sometimes, barely change. Case in point: U.K. electronic duo Underworld's "Dark & Long," the album opener from their influential 1994 LP, dubnobasswithmyheadman, could have easily been released, and celebrated, in 2014. It seems the duo have taken notice of this fact, and have now released a previously unreleased version of the song in anticipation of a deluxe reissue of the album. The new version is a cleaner, more studio-worthy cut as opposed to the original, maintaining frontman Karl Hyde's ominous presence. Otherwise, not much is changed here, and that's a good thing. Listen in below; dubnobasswithmyheadman reissue comes out on October 6th. Five days later, the duo will perform the LP in full at London’s Royal Festival Hall.
