Parquet Courts announce Sunbathing Animal, share title track

Parquet Courts Sunbathing Animal

If you've seen Brooklyn's most verbose post-punks Parquet Courts on tour in the past year or so, you probably heard a ton of new songs that weren't on their amazing 2012 record Light Up Gold and also didn't wind up on their recent EP Tally All The Things That You Broke. Turns out all those jams will be on a new record the band have penciled in for a June release, Sunbathing Animal, which has pretty instantly ranked itself among our most anticipated of the year. This news comes with a taste of the title track, a rollicking, driving moshpit instigator which sees frontman Andrew Savage employ one of his best metaphors yet to liken his whipped-ness to, yes, the torpor of a sunbathing animal, then lay down like, six guitar solos. You can pick this one up as a single on Record Store Day (that's April 19), and grab the whole record June 3.
