New: Matthew Dear, "Pawn in their Game"

Recorded for the soundtrack to the new video game, Hohokum

After the success of Beams, electronic music producer Matthew Dear had a rather uneventful year in 2013, save for his collaboration with Tegan & Sara via a cover of Tears for Fears' "Pale Shelter." And while there hasn't been much repertoire from the artist since, we finally have something to keep us warm until his next full length, with a new track called "Pawn in their Game," his contribution to an upcoming new game for PS4 called Hohokum. Described as a “distinct creative collaboration between artist Richard Hogg and Honeyslug” that’s “vibrantly whimsical” and “emphasizes exploration and creativity with a playful touch,” the game's soundtrack also features new tunes from Com Truise, Shigeto, and Tycho. Head here to listen to the entire soundtrack, including Dear's jovial contribution; the Hohokum soundtrack drops on August 22nd via Ghostly International.

Also, for kicks, take in Dear's beautiful "Slowdance."
