New Music: Arcade Fire, QotSA, Charli XCX, The Horrors, The Drums, The War on Drugs

Here is 15-seconds of a new Arcade Fire song, “Creature Comfort”, in the form of a commercial for “Ritalin cereal” from “Everything Now Corp”. The band first premiered the song in full live at Primavera Sound in Barcelona. There is fan-shot footage of the performance here

Queens of the Stone Age seem to be ready to announce their followup to Like Clockwork... Yesterday the band shared an interactive website apparently containing clues to a new album, and today a trailer for new music was uploaded to the site. 

Charli XCX and Nylon TV have shared her cover of Cher’s “Believe”. Above, stream the DJ set where Charli and A. G. Cook premiered the yet-unreleased track. Skip to the 43m14s mark to listen to the cover. 

The Horrors have returned with “Machine”, their first piece of music since 2014’s Luminous.

The Drums’ new album “Abysmal Thoughts” is out on Friday. Here is a track from the LP called “Mirror”.

Finally, The War on Drugs have shared a new video today for their excellent new single, “Holding On”, starring The Wire and Silence of the Lamb’s Frankie Faison. A Deeper Understanding, the new album from The War on Drugs, is out August 25. Pre-order here.
