New Music: Paul, Ringo, Tame Impala, Skepta, Mick Jagger, Action Bronson, Stars

Publish date:

Paul McCartney joins fellow Beatle Ringo Starr on the drummer’s new single, “We’re On the Road Again”, playing bass and offering back up vocals. The track also features the Eagles’ Joe Walsh (Starr’s brother-in-law), Edgar Winter, and, the song’s co-writer, Toto’s Steve Lukather. As one would expect, it’s a perfectly embarrassing slice of dad rock cheese. Indulge below.

While we’re on the subject of seminal legends from the 1960s, Mick Jagger dropped two tracks today condemning the U.K.’s troublesome political climate. The first one, “England Lost”, notably features the biggest grime MC in the game right now, Skepta. The second track, “Gotta Get a Grip”, was even remixed by Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker.

Jagger last released a solo album in 2001 (Goddess in the Doorway). The Rolling Stones released one last year, Blue and Lonesome, and it was pretty good

Moving on, Action Bronson released a video for new song, “The Chairman’s Intent”, today. It’s his newest single from the long-delayed, it’s-finally-happening LP Blue Chips 7000. The album will be out August 25. You can pre-order it here.

Finally, Stars will return with a new album this October. Listen to their new single, “Fluorescent Light”, below.
