This Arthur Russell compilation is getting ridiculously tight. In addition to contributions we've heard already from Hot Chip and Sufjan Stevens, the album, (organized by the Red Hot Organization, which spreads AIDS awareness through pop culture circles) also includes covers of the American cellist, composer, singer and musician by Arcade Fire‘s Richard Reed Parry, Scissor Sisters, Phosphorescent, Cults, Blood Orange, Neon Indian‘s Alan Palomo, and Robyn. Today, Robyn's cover of Russel's "Tell You (Today)" has been revealed, a groovy, horn-blaring anthem that revitalizes disco as much as Daft Punk's "Lose Yourself to Dance." The kicker is Robyn of course, reeking of swagger and sunshine. I really hope they make a music video for this one, and that it involves roller skates. Hear it below; Master Mix: Red Hot + Arthur Russell is out on October 21st.
