Of Montreal's most recent LP, False Priest, offers the Athens ensemble's notorious brand of eccentric pop, disco and afrobeats. The collective has been touring with r&b sweetheart Janelle Monae, who appears on the new album on two occasions. On “Our Riotous Defects,” Monae appears near the very end of the synth affable rock jam, offering just a glimpse of her jaw-dropping vocal abilities. Of Montreal has just dropped an alternate version of the track, one that showcases Monae's vocals off the bat, while maintaining the bright disco ambience, robust piano melodies, and Kevin Barnes' peculiar dialogue. It actually sounds pretty similar to its studio counterpart, but you be the judge.
