PJ Harvey - "Let England Shake"

British songstress PJ Harvey has been making music for over 20 years and shows no signs of letting up with the excellent material anytime soon – her eighth studio album, Let England Shake, will drop Valentine’s Day, and judging by the title track, it’ll be awesome. Over a wandering, blues-y piano riff that’ll be stuck in your head forever (she’s performed it live sampling They Might Be Giants’ “Istanbul”) and some autoharp strumming, Harvey’s voice is echoed and layered, like an even-ghostlier Kate Bush or Joanna Newsom. It’s a song that sounds like walking in a rainstorm, in the best possible way. Check it out while you wait for the record.
