What can only be described as the most anticipated audio file in the Internet's history, the Flaming Lips and fellow psych royalty Miley Cyrus have recorded a cover of the Beatles' "A Day In The Life" and it's almost here! Wayne Coyne has uploaded a snippet of the track onto Instagram, sharing with us that the song's release is imminent.

Quoth Coyne:

“Woke up ..fell out of bed.. dragged a comb across my head.. Yep!!!! @mileycyrus singing the Paul McCartney bit on A Day In The Life!!!!! Yesss!! Thanks @NewFumes Almost done mixin !! Gon beeee rad!!!!! If ya love The Beatles and John Lennon you gonna love this!!! #freaks #floyd #beatles #srgtpeppers #theflaminglips #lovemoneyparty #dogsmusicfriends #drugmusicthatdestroyshate”

(Sidebar: Is #drugmusicthatdestroyshate the best hashtag ever? I think so.)

The Miley cover of "A Day In The Life" is just the tip of the iceberg, people. The Flaming Lips have also shared plans to record a entire cover album of Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. Coyne claims that beyond Cyrus, his band will be working with MGMT’s Andrew VanWyngarden, Tame Impala, Phantogram and Foxygen on the cover album. If that sounds too good to be true, it's because it probably is, but we're keeping the faith.
