There hasn't been a song that brings me back to the 90s this much since Dinosaur Jr. released 2009's Farm. It's refreshing that in a world infatuated with 80s throwbacks and 60s nostalgia that somebody still remembers that the 90s even existed. R.E.M.'s latest, “Mine Smell Like Honey,” is the fourth track released in anticipation for their 15th studio album, Collapse Into Now, and the selection has been quite eclectic thus far.
The song is the first official radio single, and it's obvious why: the song is brimming with pop enthusiasm, has a wickedly fun chorus and Michael Stipe sounds charming as Hell. Collapse Into Now is out March 8th via Warner.
