This is the Cut Copy we all love and cherish. After tantalizing fans with the psychadelic rock track “Where I'm Going” and the electro pop madness of “Take Me Over,” the internet has provided a new track from the Australian trio to tide us over till Zonoscope hits the shelves next month. “Pharaohs and Pyramids” has got disco pop fever; they haven't released such a dance compelling track since In Ghost Colours' “Far Away.”
The track sounds like it was produced by Hercules and Love Affair, oozing with synths, eccentric bass lines and 80s new wave revival. Dan Whitford's distinct falsetto combined with the growing electronic buildup makes this a sensation for the senses, I dare say the most exhilarating track they've released yet. Zonoscope is out on Feb. 8, and it seems it's going to absolutely fantastic.
