REC'D: The Kills - "Pots and Pans"

The Kills’ new record Blood Pressures drops next week, and they’ve leaked another fantastic track (after the deliciously scuzzy “Satellites” and "DNA") from it to whet your appetite.

“Pots and Pans” has a Bonnie-and-Clyde kind of feel, driving under the hot sun and the wide blue sky loving that you’ve done something wrong. All the strings sound loose on Jamie Hince’s guitar, the drums sound recorded off your grandmother’s record player, and Alison Mosshart sounds like she’s whispering in your ear, telling you all the bad things you have yet to do, and how beautiful it’ll be when you do them. A dirty, haunting, and fantastic song – if the rest of Blood Pressures is as good, it’ll be up in the running for best of the year so far.
