Spoon's Britt Daniel - "Love Letters"

Britt Daniel Rookie

We're basically having a conniption about the inevitability of new material from Spoon in 2014, so this is a pretty awesome track to tide us over - for their theme song for January, Rookie Magazine got Spoon and Divine Fits frontman Britt Daniel to cover Shelly Fabares' 1960s classic "Love Letters" (which you might recognize from Ketty Lester'sdecidedly creepier rendition for David Lynch's "Blue Velvet"). It's a lovely rendition, with some atmospheric keyboard and guitar chords and minimalist percussion sounding very Kill the Moonlight. Check it out.
