St. Vincent Made a Mixtape for an 11-Year-Old on Her Beats 1 Show

“To serve as a soundtrack for whatever is going on in their lives”

St. Vincent has a weekly show on Apple Music’s Beats 1 global online radio station called St. Vincent’s Mixtape Delivery Service. Its premise is beautifully simple: fans write in to the show and every week she chooses one lucky person and makes a personalize mixtape for them. Her first show was last night, and she chose to create a mixtape for someone named Piper.

A little bit about Piper: she loves to dance to Purity Ring and Chvrches, she has singing parties alone at night, she’s 11 years old and uses words like “compromised”. With this to go by, Annie Clark picked out songs she “think[s] she’ll love, but probably has missed... because she’s 11.”

You can hear the audio of Annie Clark’s chat with Piper below while you check out the mixtape.
