Sufjan Stevens - "Take Me"

"repetitive lo-fi pop demo I found under my desk... goes nowhere" says Sufjan Stevens of "Take Me," the pushing-six-minute track he posted to his hilariously titled SoundCloud ("tumblr ghetto" - he's also listed under Barack Obama, living in "Planet Zardok, US minor outlying islands") last night. "Repetitive," we'll give him, but the repetition of that single lyric ("love, take me to your room, I wanna be your friend"), isolated over a dreamy, evolving soundscape of skittery, arty electronics and twinkling piano, only serves to drive it further into your bones. And we definitely, definitely, definitely, can't subscribe to "goes nowhere."
