HIGHLY REC'D: James Blake - "Limit To Your Love" (Feist Cover)

London producer and singer James Blake takes Feist’s lovelorn 2007 ballad “Limit to Your Love” for a chilling, minimalistic spin with this beautiful, evocative cover, serving as the first single from his still-untitled debut, due early in 2011. The cold distance and simplicity of Blake’s cover only serves to make it more heartwrenching than the original, though: Blake’s voice is tender, sweet, fragile, the syncopated piano chords sound recorded in a dark, dusty old church – even something about the slow metronome quality of the drum machine is haunting.
