New TV on the Radio (sort of) - "Absence of Light"

I've slept on Maximum Balloon. Big. Time. For those who don't know (thanks to PMA), Maximum Balloon is Dave Sitek, member and producer of TV on the Radio and their very epic music. Sitek has also worked with a number of bands you may have heard of, including Liars, Foals, Telepathe and Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Actually, Dave Sitek has taken part in producing each of the YYYs records. In other words he's, ahem, pretty much amazing, and is releasing a solo album under the moniker Maximum Balloon on September 21. The self-titled debut album will reportedly feature 21st century classic vocals from the likes of TVotR's Tunde Adebimpe (which you can listen to below) and YYY's Karen O. Maximum Balloon will also include tracks with Katrina Ford, Theophilus London, Little Dragon, and Dragons of Zynth's Aku.

Like I said, longtime band-mates Sitek and Adebimpe came together for the Maximum Balloon record with the electro-rock jam "Absence of Light", which sort of sounds like 2010 Mark Ronson (opposed to Amy Winehouse Mark Ronson) remixing TV on the Radio. Believe me, this is a wonderful thing. Listen to the track on the SoundCloud player below, courtesy of SKOA.

PS: this player is giving away free mp3s of the track for a limited time, apparently.
