New: Ty Segall - "The Hill"

Twins will be reigning king of the garage Ty Segall’s third record released in 2012, following up Hair, his psych-punk collab with White Fence, and Slaughterhouse, written and recorded with his touring band. But on first Twins single “The Hill” we’re back to all Segall all the time, and dear lord is it badass – crunchy guitars drive and then squeal with hair metal abandon over pounding, motorik drums and a melodic choir of falsetto vocals that recalls that of Segall’s friends and tourmates Thee Oh Sees. Segall’s songwriting has gotten a hell of a lot weirder since the straightforward (but awesome) punk jammers of Melted, but, if anything, it might be even more incendiary. Twins drops September 4.
