Morgan Kibby was in French electronic band M83 for their two most well-received records, Saturdays=Youth and Hurry Up, We're Dreaming, and she even co-wrote smash "Midnight City," so she's more than qualified to go it on her own as White Sea, her new solo project with a debut full-length coming this spring. "Prague" is her debut single, and if you're a fan of her work in M83, there's lots to like here - a huge, soaring chorus, anthemic vocals, dramatic shifts in tension and dynamic. Kibby's taste for dramatic sounds (to the point of sort of dark and evil) is what sets her new work apart, though; something about "Prague" feels scarier than anything M83 have managed to date. Still no release date or album title, but stay tuned.
Not hard to see that she co-wrote "Midnight City."
