When I first heard that Jay-Z signed Will Smith's 9-year-old daughter to his Roc Nation label after hearing her new single, I audible scoffed and decided not to legitimize this Willow Smith.
Well that was last week.
My thoughts on Willow Smith and "Whip My Hair" this week are quite different. Right now, "Whip My Hair" sounds like the catchiest piece of novelty pop since Lil Mama's "Lip Gloss". Not to mention the fact that a nine year old —famous parents or not — can muster a delivery with more poise current poptards like Ke$ha could ever dish out.
Listen to the track below. It took me a couple of spins to get into it, but once you do, it's quite a cheesejam.
