Woods are one of the most prolific bands around these days, having released an album every year for the last five years on their very own Woodsist imprint, gaining steady momentum after 2009's lovely Songs Of Shame and last year's At Echo Lake. The band is now at it again, dropping a new LP called Sun & Shade this month, and have already released lead single “Pushing Onlys” and lengthy cut – as customary to Woods fashion – “Out Of The Eye.” There is now a third single out called “Any Other Day,” which you can hear below.
Lead by frontman Jeremy Earl and his Neil Young-like falsetto, Woods have a fondness for dainty, lo-fi recordings, jamming inexplicably and merging folk with psychedelia. “Any Other Day” is no exception. Sun & Shade comes out digitally on May 30th, and physically on June 14th on Woodsist. If it's anything like their last two records, you won't want to miss it.
