Yeasayer - "Crazy" (Seal Cover)

What a throwback. It's funny, listening to Seal's 1990 classic “Crazy” now, it feels to have more in common with Yeasayer's most recent Odd Blood, than their new cover of the track. While Seal's original houses electronic influences, distorted echoes, and jungle style percussion (which appear on songs like “O.N.E.” and “Ambling Alp”) the Brooklyn psychedelic experimentalists have gone completely country acoustic on their rendition, Ira Wolf Tuton claiming: “it's us covering Rolling Stones covering Everlast covering Pearl Jam covering Seal.” The song was premiered on Australian radio station Triple J's Like A Version (their equivalent to BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge).
