Damon Albarn - "Everyday Robots"

Damon Albarn Everyday Robots

Not long ago, we learned about Blur and Gorillaz frontman Damon Albarn's new solo record Everyday Robots, a Richard Russell-produced, Bat for Lashes and Brian Eno-featuring exploration of society's contemporary obsession with all things digital. Before you start expecting a curmudgeonly foray into modern antisociality, check out the record's title track and its attendant video, directed by the artist Aitor Throup with the help of some CGI (and, apparently, actual brain scans of Albarn) - the song's uneasy relationship with modernity, figuring call-outs of the endless masses who text and walk over very contemporary (and very mechanized) digital sounds, is what makes it so interesting. Check it out - the record's out April 29.
