As someone who has, unfairly and with impunity, written off most recent straight-indie-rock music, I’m pretty excited for the new Foals album, What Went Down. (Literally every single is fire, boys and girls.) But after hearing/watching the band perform a slightly sped-up cover of Mark Ronson and Tame Impala’s flawless pop single “Daffodils”, I think Foals have a career as white-boy-funk peddlers. Maybe Ronson (or, if we’re dreaming here, Kevin Parker) owes them a call?
BTW, pre-orders for Foals’ What Went Down are still ongoing. It’s out August 28.
And here is the unfuckwithable original—a song Parker was able to best several times on the new Tame Impala LP Currents.
