At this year’s Miley Cyrus-hosted MTV VMAs—airing Sunday, August 30—Kanye West will receive the night’s highest honor, the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award.

Considering last year’s recipient, Beyoncé, performed a 16 minute medley of her magnum opus, and the year before, Justin Timberlake performed a career-spanning 15-minute set, Kanye is all but guaranteed to outdo his lofty contemporaries with a grand performance this weekend.

Previous recipients of the Video Vanguard Award include the Beatles, David Bowie, David Byrne, the Beastie Boys, Madonna, R.E.M., the Rolling Stones, and of course, Michael Jackson.
