Atmospheric UK trio the xx partnered up with Pitchfork TV to kick off the website’s new series “Surveillance,” featuring great bands playing great songs through simulated surveillance cameras. The band play two of the highlights on their 2009 self-titled record, “Night Time” and “Basic Space,” in a video that looks as though it might be used as evidence against them on Law and Order. The xx sound great, the simplicity of these live versions combined with the video’s black-and-white graininess enough to up the songs’ natural eerie quality. Should be enough to tide you over until new material from the band arises. Check out the sessions below.
