We've loved MGMT's "Your Life is a Lie" since we first saw a bootleg of its live premiere in Portland, Maine, so we're psyched that it seems to be the single the guys are circulating in advance of their third, self-titled record's September 17 release. They brought it to Letterman last night for a characteristically oddball, art-school-dropout style performance, in which frontman Andrew VanWyngarden wore a necklace of teeth and intermittently struck a giant cowbell. Everyone in the band's dressed to impress, but the real star's "Your Life is a Lie," which is practically the most irresistible slice of weird-pop the band have produced yet. Check it out.
